A trio of us ventured down west for a quick homey meal at Cam Wah, famously known for their fried bread sticks aka Chinese curlers before catching The Avengers on the big screen. Woo! Decor isn’t a priority here, nor is the ambience – oh, and you might wanna get used to watching/listening to the Vietnamese music/concert they have on at all times blasting out of their tv screen located on their wall. But hey, you’re really only after one thing once you’re here: a cheap and delicious feed!

Ca phe sua da, filtered ice white coffee; $4.50
N and I injected ourselves with a strong hit of caffeine expecting a long night ahead. Ha!

Chinese curlers aka fried bread sticks and chilli tomato beef soup; $2.40 and $3.80 respectively
Fried bread sticks! Long, golden brown bread sticks, crispy on the outside with an almost hollow centre of dough (a bit too doughy for my liking) torn into bite sized pieces and then submerged in the tomato soup. Bliss. Comforting and warm, a perfect combination to combat the chilly weather. Lime wedges and fresh chilli is optional – I took a stab at the chilli and that stuff is hot so beware!
