There’s a new food truck to hit Adelaide streets folks: a mobile gourmet Argentinian Chimichurri Grill!

Chimi steak: tender scotch fillet steak, provolone cheese, rocket, kewpie mayo and signature chimichurri sauce served on a fresh ciabatta roll ($9.90), with chips; $12.90 and Chimi mayo dipping sauce; $1.00

Got the whole kit and caboodle! Chimi steak burger, the beer battered chips and their special sauce. The sous vide cooked steak was juicy, tender and flavourful sandwiched between a ciabatta roll which was thick and spongy – not in a good way as it filled me up too quickly. The melted cheese added some salt whilst the rocket gave it some crunch and freshness, I just only wish there was more. A generous side of chips with a tangy sauce that I wasn’t an entire fan of. I think I prefer mine the simple way: chips and tomato sauce! :) Still a great and fast gourmet lunch option at a reasonable price I say. Keep a lookout for the truck by following them on their Facebook or twitter page.

Buenos Aires Argentinian Restaurant, Adelaide

Dinner at Buenos Aires, an Argentinian restaurant on Hutt Street just on the outskirts of the CBD. Our group of 5 wanted to start off with a bottle of sangria but was indecisive as to whether we should get the red or white wine; in other words, which one was sweeter? We asked our waiter figuring that she’ll know best and instead get a non helpful and clueless answer of, “Depends what you like, one’s red, one’s white?”. That didn’t answer our question or was helpful one bit. Seriously. If you were wondering, we went with the red.

Entrees:

Chorizo campero, Norberto’s own family recipe of Argentinian style sausage charcoal grilled & basted with “chimichurri”; $15.90
Empandas, Homemade Beef Empandas; $16.90

The chorizo was not the kind of chorizo that I’m used to – it was on the fatty and grainy side for my palate. Wasn’t a favourite amongst us all and the same could be said about the empanadas. The pastry was uncooked and broke apart once jabbed at with our forks, we pretty much left the entrees to the side and tackled our mains instead.

THIS was our main – a whopping 2kg of a variety of meat cuts. Carnivores, DIG IN!

Parrillada Mixta, Meat Grill for Two (Minimum of 2 people), Chef’s selection of lamb, pork, black pudding, chicken, kidneys, spicy Argentinian sausage, and steak served on a charcoal grill (Approx 1kg per person) served with stir fried vegetables and spanish chips. A traditional Argentinian feast! $101.80

Meat, meat and more meat! Meat overdose, food comas all around. This is for TWO people, seriously?! We almost got through it all which is a mean feat for 5 measly girls but did we enjoy it? Not so much. The food was mediocre, the service poor and a very expensive bill at the end.
