Biting my way through New York City, USA [part 4]

Last post of NYC spam, I promise!

One of our most memorable meals from our whole trip:

ShackBurger: cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce; $4.60USD
Dapper dog: topped with Shack cheddar, American cheese sauce and crispy ShackMeister Ale marinated shallots; $4.00USD
Cheese fries; $3.70USD
Fresh brewed iced tea; $1.95USD
Fair shake; $5.50USD

Super duperly good!!

We burnt off all some of that deliciousness in Central Park NYC on hired bikes! So much fun!

And then went to get more food to eat at Momofuku Milkbar… hehe!!

Goodies of pork buns, chocolate swirl, cookies and a crack pie!

Chocolate swirl; $3.00USD

Dinner at a popular Korean restaurant with the line wrapping from inside the back of the restaurant all the way out to the front door!

Kunjip Restaurant

So. Much. Food!

Jap chae

Egg soup

Bibimbap

Then walked next door for dessert!

Vanilla frozen yoghurt with raspberries, mango, blueberries, kiwi fruit and strawberries.

Tried the popular lobster rolls at Luke’s Lobster. We both found the rolls to be rather… underwhelming.

Taste of Main: half lobster roll, half crab roll, half shrimp roll with soda (root beer), chips and a pickle; $20.00USD

The seafood is served cold on top of a buttered and toasted New England-style bun with mayo, lemon butter and secret spices. The cold seafood really threw us off but the bun itself was really really tasty.

We treated ourselves to the famous ‘Frrrozen hot chocolate’ at Serendipity 3.

Frrrozen hot chocolate; $8.95USD

Frozen espresso; $8.00USD

And finished our final meal at… you guessed it, Shake Shack!! Hehe :)

And the photos keep coming from the Big Apple – makes sense as we spent a majority of our time there. Having said that, you can never have enough time in New York, there is just so much to see and do. And eat! :)

Biting my way through New York City, USA [part 1]

NYC aka the big apple… and the city that never sleeps. Flying in on a day forecasted at negative 1 degrees celcius, we didn’t really know what to expect and to put it lightly, it was flipping flipping FLIPPING cold that sent a chill down ones spine and stayed there all day even with bundles of layers on and every inch of our body covered aside from our faces! NYC… we finally made it but boy oh boy, are you cold or what!

The onslaught of photos continue… :P

Jet blue blue chips made from natural blue potatoes

Not exactly the most “appealing” snack I’ve come across but it sure was tasty. Super crunchy similar to Kettle Chips but with a hint of nuttiness.

Ess-a-bagel – pastrami, sauerkraut, Jack cheese and a pickle on the side on a sesame bagel

Note to self: stick to basics! Didn’t really enjoy this bagel and gave up half way through. You know you’re in trouble when you watch them stick the bagel into the microwave to melt the cheese! Dude, throw it under a grill don’t ‘ding’ it. :/

Macchiato Espresso Bar – we ordered a coffee, took one sip and threw it out. Ick! Americans really don’t know what good coffee is.

Chipotle Yucatan chicken salad: roasted pulled chicken breast seasoned with garlic, oregano and blackening spices. Served over mixed greens and romaine tossed with avocado, mixed cheese, tomato, red onion, cilantro and tostadas. Drizzled with avocado vinaigrette and chipotle crema; $16.79USD
