Cafe Komodo, a retro hippy hidden gem in the burbs of Prospect. One of those ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ type of cafes with the entrance being the width of a doorway leading you down a long narrow alleyway to a cafe cross lounge bar when the stars come out to play on Friday evenings.

Mushroom magic: creamy mushrooms in a seeded mustard sauce and fresh herbs on rye; $16.00
Warm roast veg salad: roast pumpkin, carrot, sweet potato with Bulgarian fetta, celery, seeds and greens; $16.00
Look at all that colour! A perfect start to my morning with this number: sweet veggies, salty fetta, snappy celery pieces, crunchy seeds and freshness from the leafy greens. Vibrant dish with great flavours and textures. I’m keen to try their other dishes like their sticky plum duck thighs, braised and finished with a fresh orange and mixed green salad or the komodo chicken caesar with grilled chicken thigh, cured proscuitto crisps, parmi cheese, poached egg and drizzled with a light sour cream and mustard dressing. Can I just say, yum?
