Finally! I’ve been meaning to snag a seat at Big Table for quite a while to treat myself to breakfast and a coffee with solid recommendations from friends for the last couple of months, but every time I made my way there, all seats were occupied. A popular spot with the locals so get in early and snag a seat at their bench or grab a seat in the ‘eating area’ of the markets and get a number from Big Table. (Note: the stall may be called ‘Big Table’, but said table ain’t so big!)

I scored myself a seat at their bench bar and after perusing through their menu up above countless times, I settled on a coffee and the poached eggs and smoked salmon.
Tiny kitchen workspace
Check out their tiny kitchen space in the centre of the stall! There are a handful of staff within the tiny stall and somehow magically work cohesively in such a tight working space.

Poached eggs with smoked salmon; $15.00
Two perfectly poached eggs, smoked salmon pieces, a handful of fresh rocket and two slices of super duper fat toast which was lightly buttered was placed before me! YUMMO! Look at the egg yolk – so golden and runny as it slowly cascaded out of its soft egg white shell coating the toast. The fat toast was crunchy with a soft pillowy centre teamed with the sharp and strong smoked salmon and peppery crunch of rocket leaves, a variety of flavours and textures to treat your taste buds early in the AM. Big Table also offers a wide selection of salads and sandwiches for people on the go (on the other side of the stall). So if you can’t get yourself a seat, there’s an alternative!
