Tried a different lunch spot one sunny afternoon with some work peeps. Galaxy Lartay or Tree House Galaxi Cafe or Zella’s (take a pick with their name, I’m not sure which one is correct but I’m gonna stick with ‘Galaxy’ as it’s painted on their shop front window), situated on East Tce (right next door to EST Pizzeria) serves home made food with vegetarian options, freshly baked goodies and freshly made fruit juices, coffee and tea.
The cafe has a hippy and artsy vibe going on with random knick knacks dispersed inside and outside the venue, fresh flowers in vases on dining tables, fresh pot plants, oil paintings on handing on the walls or leaning against them, books and a number of old broken type writers. There’s a lot going on but somehow it just… works.

Freshly squeezed fruit juices.. would have been better if it was served chilled.
Arabian chicken curry, rice, bread and yoghurt; $14.00
Filo pastry roll, spiced eggplant and potato, spinach, feta, salads and basil yoghurt; $14.00
Peach and apple cake with fresh fruit and cream
A rare little gem in the East End of the city serving great food at affordable prices that’s definitely worth a gander. I didn’t eat on this occasion but the work peeps gave me the double thumbs up… looks like I’ll have to come back with an empty stomach!

I’ve always wanted to try Galaxy Lartay but I’ve never gotten around to it, my friends rave about it though…this will have to be added to the list! The food looks amazing!
I’m keen to try the food next time! The servings are quite generous so I plan to share mine with someone. Btw, my list of places to try never shrink, it just gets longer and longer! >.<
Alas, the lady that ran the business and did the wonderful meals has sold up. The new owners have started changing the menu and for me it has lost its mojo. This WAS one of my favourite eateries of all time and I used to joke with Zella ( is that her name?) to write a cookbook. Adelaide is worse off for the loss of this magnificent cook.
