Cold meat roll; $3.50
Vietnamese meat roll: a crusty bread roll halved and then slathered in a rich homemade mayonnaise, pate, slices of cold meats, fresh cucumber, pickled carrots and radishes, coriander, soy sauce, white pepper and the option of fresh chilli slices. Now that’s what I call a cheap lunch that doesn’t break the bank! Picked up a roll down west at Viet Nam (corner of Days Rd and Regency Rd) and was quite disappointed by the lack of filling. I finished the roll in 5 minutes flat and could have easily gone for another one but resisted. I should have gone with my gut instinct and headed to Tay Do known for their rolls and tasty fillings! I’ve also heard that Nhu Lan on Hanson Road makes a mean roll, any other suggestions readers? Plus, anyone know where a place where they toast the roll before putting the roll together?! Toasted meat rolls are the best!
