With the given brief, C booked us in for a small bite at the Greek on Halifax on Hutt Street with our intention of grabbing dessert after, so the hard task was to not over order which is a common occurrence with us!
Four Island: mixed dip platter, served with pita; $18.00
L-R (clockwise) Skordalia: potato, garlic & lemon
Melinzanosalata: smokey roasted eggplant & garlic
Banzarosalata: beetroot, coriander, cumin, & yoghurt, served with pita
Tzatziki: yoghurt, cucumber & garlic
We started off with dips and warm, fluffy and slightly toasted pita bread. Each pita bread was subjected to a healthy scoop and slathering of the dips provided! Oh so good and moreish, the beetroot dip being the favourite for flavour and vibrancy!
We only just started but we’re getting full (already!) and brace ourselves for the next dish, luckily we opted for something small.
Loukanika: Greek sausages, made to our own recipe, char-grilled with Ouzo-marinated oranges; $15.00
The sausages arrive and we take no time to waste to dig in – BUT not before I get myself an obligatory food shot 
. The grilled oranges are different and added a nice, sweet and refreshing note to cut through the saltiness of the sausage.
Horiatiki eliniki salata: traditional Greek village salad, with tomato, red onion, cucumber, feta & Kalamata olives, dressed with lemon & olive oil; $14.00
Good thing our waiter suggested we order a side of salad cause that was exactly what we needed to go along with the meat. Some freshness and crunch! Our salad was the last to arrive after we had to remind them about our order, but nevertheless, better late than never. The salad was vibrant with generous cubes of salty feta, fresh cucumber and juicy tomato wedges. That fulfilled a portion of our recommended fruit and veg daily intake! 
We leave the Greek on Halifax satisfied and full, but still enough room for dessert!
